Voters will consider two replacement levies – the substitution levy for educational programs and operations, and the replacement levy for technology, safety and plant improvements. The two levies would replace similar levies approved by voters in 2018 and are expected to expire at the end of 2022. On Friday, January 7, the Washington State Department of Health and Human Services updated its K-12 COVID-19 requirements for the 2021-2022 school year. In particular, the new official requirements included updated isolation, quarantine, and testing recommendations to align with recent changes to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as expanded authorizations and activities allowed during the modified quarantine in Test to Stay programs. The support of para-educators and online access are essential for students in quarantine to catch up and keep their studies up to date. Learning assistants (para-educators) provide students with individualized instruction and support. .
